Schedule varies per location: 4 weeks on 2 weeks off/3 weeks on 3 weeks off.

Assists the cook/baker or head cook with meal preparation for field workers residing at camp.

Primary duties include preparation of a variety of salads, setting up and taking down the salad bar, serving other foods, making sandwiches for the break room, cutting vegetables for use in meals, rotating condiment containers, maintaining the pantry, making coffee and keeping it replenished for both the dining room and break room, monitoring and replenishing supplies in both of these areas, doing dishes, sweeping and mopping the dining room, break room, mud room, downstairs bathroom, and hall entryway, and vacuuming safety rugs in the mud room. Make appropriate entries in daily logbook.

One-year experience in making salads and other types of food preparation, plus ongoing on-the-job training under the direction of the head cook is needed. A knowledge of the characteristics of different fruits and vegetables of the effects of different temperature levels on different foods, and good sanitation practices also are required. Basic people skills also are needed for this position.

This is an 84 hour/week position, and overtime is paid for all hours 40 in a week.
